Okay, so this isn’t exactly a wedding. But it was so stinking adorable, I just couldn’t help myself. It was sent to us by Jen Huang, who is an incredible photographer and behind some of SMP’s most popular weddings (click here and click here for total goodness), and seems to me to be the PERFECT inspiration for an engagement party, a shower, a cute rehearsal dinner or even a sweet, casual wedding! Love, love, love. To see all of the inspiration, click here!

This isn’t a wedding, but rather a little cocktail party put on by Poppies & Posies and Merci New York, and photographed by myself – Jen! I loved the little details and I think they can really be inspiring to brides looking for a whimsical DIY touch to their wedding! Some key details: guests were asked to write their names on chalkboard name tags, there was DIY toast & DIY cupcakes as well as a wine tasting by Swirl Eventss. All the poppies were by Poppies and Posies, in giant mason jars. Favors were colorful lollipops. Everyone was asked to put their business card in a tea tin so that you could take a tin of cards away with you as you left.

I´m inlove with everything!!!!
LOVE! DIY cupcake bar...is my personal HEAVEN! thanks for sharing =)
Love those lollipops! Where do I find them?
Oh. My. Gosh. I am so telling the next bride-to-be in my social circle to consider having a DIY cupcake bar alongside her wedding cake... at least for the kids? (And for moi.) A cookie decoration bar could work at a very family-friendly wedding with lots of kids in attendance, too. Think gingerbread, maybe for a wintertime wedding?
where on earch did you find those cute glasses?
So adorable! Anything Merci New York does is just lovely!
I love the diy cupcake bar! What a great idea.
Great work, Jen... you know I'm a fan!
Have to hand it to Sierra, Juliete and Jacki for a wonderful afternoon. Those cupcakes were amazing in person!!
Thanks again ladies for hosting such a fabulous soiree. Wonderful meeting everyone!

Beautiful photos. Great party. Sierra and Juliet filled the room with style. It was so much fun!
This was such a great party - Thanks to Sierra and Juliet for creating a colorful, springtime afternoon in the midst of a crazy storm. The cupcakes and lemonade were just scrumptious!
do you happen to have a good and easy recipe for cupcakes?
The DIY cupcake bar is darling! Especially with the mason jars for icing!

I love the DIY cupcake bar, I also love the galvanized three-tier serving tower from PB. I've had my eye on that since last summer. : )
What a great idea! I'm thinking about throwing a simple DIY party and was at a loss for ideas. And guess what, I even have the same exact typewriter. Oh, and the three-tier serving tower - love it and I saw a DIY version on one of the blogs I follow.
Great post can you recommend any forums to join?
The cupcake bar is brilliant. And the old style black board lends a vintage feel to the spread. It works well with the mason jars too. Dreamy and fun!
Hi! I love this post with the flowers, vases, and the colors and amazing!
I love that dress in the third pic down - whereever did you get it? I am thinking bridesmaid dress!
sweet, elegant, orangey-red themes. beautiful, cute, love it!
Love the poppies! They are generally short lived and hard to work with at times but look fabulous in your photos!
The flower arrangements are exquisite, I love the lemonade glass jar :) Great party ideas.
The shots are definitely a work of art. The photographer knows what he's doing and I'm loving it. Fantastic work.
